WARWICK, RI – Rhode Island Republican Party Chairman Joe Powers is calling for the immediate resignation of Providence City Council Chief of Staff June Rose following their recent arrest during a trespassing incident at Trump Tower in New York City.
“It is completely unacceptable for a high-ranking city official to engage in such reckless and irresponsible behavior,” said Chairman Joe Powers. “Elected officials and their staff should be focused on serving the people, not taking part in lawless, childish stunts that embarrass Rhode Island and erode public trust.”
The Democratic Party’s actions continue to raise serious concerns. Their participation in disruptive protests—this time to defend reckless government spending—raises important questions: What are they trying to hide? Who are they protecting? Instead of working to address real issues like affordability, education, and public safety, they resort to radical activism that undermines the very institutions they claim to serve.
“Rhode Islanders—and all Americans—deserve better,” Powers continued. “Public officials should be held accountable for their actions. If we can’t trust them to act responsibly in public, how can we trust them to handle taxpayer dollars?”
The Rhode Island Republican Party remains committed to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and the rule of law—principles that are clearly missing from the Democratic playbook. June Rose must resign immediately, and Rhode Island’s leaders must start putting the people first.
